4 Ways Seated Fitness Rocks the Day
Beating stiff lethargic joints with safe effective movement.
Hi, I’m Monica! I teach 17 classes a week—300+ students- glowing, moving, laughing. We have a BLAST in seated fitness classes, and I want to share why it works so well.
Wakes up stiff joints
Stiff mornings? We are not 20- or 45- but our spirit springs eternal, and gentle seated exercise can groove us awake!
We can engage smoothly-our wrists, ankles, fingers, toes. My morning classes always let out with more smiles afterwards! My 4 minute warmup proves it!
The lotion to our “dry stiff joints” is gentle movement in the morning.
Boosts energy without coffee.
Suffer from mid-day energy slumps? Try seated marches-20 knee lifts, to your favorite song-it beats coffee(it robs calcium, by the way)
My afternoon gang ditches their nap and they are JAZZED- grab your energy from your chair- try it!
Stop falls before they start
Feeling wobbly? Your core muscles may need strengthening. Safe and easy exercises are available from the chair.
Try seated twists (10 per side), arm drops right and left (seated suitcases) , sit tall and clench abs 5-7 seconds and release.
Core is the build- and you can accomplish that from your seat.
Sleep better at night
Restless? 20 toe taps each foot to calm legs. Then, stretch your legs out, with some gentle ankle circles. Stretch your sides next, then reach hands high, ending with neck rolls. Classical music is my secret night rhythm-it calms and soothes.
